Aussie Hoops

Beginner Class (Ages 5-10)

Aussie Hoops is the perfect entry point into basketball. This is a nationally recognised program, and consists of fun games and activities that will teach the rules and skills of basketball in a welcoming environment.

Hawthorn Magic Domestic

Domestic basketball is the first team that a young basketball player joins when they’re ready to start playing matches. Our teams are settled for this winter season, but please express your interest in joining next season at the button below.

Development Squad

This class is for any current junior basketball player who would like to accelerate their skill development, and potentially improve to the level of a VJBL Championship Player. Players also have the opportunity to be invited to representative tournaments throughout the year.

FREE Future Magic Girls

For all current female basketball players born 2013-2015, come and train with Coach Kyle Ogden (G12.1 VJBL Championship Coach, NBL1 and Big V Assistant Coach) and his supporting Magic Championship Coaches. As many players as possible will be invited to the Nunawading Tournament (June 10-12), to get a taste of what VJBL Championship Basketball is like!

VJBL Championship Basketball

The Victorian Junior Basketball League is for the most dedicated and passionate junior basketball players. Tryouts are held in October, and players play grading games from November until March, and then the championship season takes place from March until finals in late August/early September.

Teams are selected on merit by our coaching panel, and teams train for 2.5 hours a week (across two weekdays for U12 and U14, and a weekday and a Sunday morning for U16-U20).

The VJBL has had past and current national team and NBA players grace their courts, so if your child has big dreams for basketball, make sure you’re on our mailing list for tryout dates!
